First and foremost, thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer with Project C.H.A.N.C.E. (Creating Hope for Abused and Neglected Children Everywhere) and for wanting to make a difference in the lives of children.
Volunteers are the heart of our organization. Without volunteers, we cannot achieve the level of quality that we aspire to. Our organization depends on caring people like you to join in our efforts to prevent child abuse in all of its forms by raising awareness and educating the public on ways to detect and report it. Our highest priority are the victims of the horror that is child abuse – to empower them to speak out and seek help.
Why volunteer? It is estimated that 5 children die each day in the U.S. from abuse. By volunteering with Project C.H.A.N.C.E. you are saying that you understand the need to protect our future, our children. Unlike many other diseases, child abuse is 100% preventable through awareness and education.
As I am sure you are aware, children are the most vulnerable, but also the most valuable members of our society and it is our responsibility as adults and parents to protect them. It is very important that people just like you get involved in any way possible to work towards preventing child abuse and neglect. The smallest gesture or action can create ripples across our community and in our nation. This is why we focus on taking action because no matter how small the gesture - it will certainly raise awareness, set an example and reach out to others.
Too often we seek out to punish the abuser, but we fail to recognize how we could have prevented the abuse from occurring in the first place. As a volunteer you will be instrumental in minimizing the growing statistics of this epidemic by assisting those in a crisis situation or who might otherwise be at risk of abusing their children. How rewarding is that?!
We always welcome any and all suggestions. If you have any ideas or are aware of any events in El Paso or Las Cruces where Project C.H.A.N.C.E. may have the opportunity to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect, PLEASE feel free to share them.
We truly appreciate your interest and willingness to help our Cause in reducing the incidence of child abuse and neglect. Thank you once again for volunteering your time and working with us to ensure that the children of our communities live an abuse free life.
Yours for a better community,

“People naturally turn away from this issue. That is a human thing. I can point to no one and say, ‘you’re a bad person for turning away from this issue.’ I can turn to anyone and say, ‘please be incredibly courageous and be one of those people who turn towards it.’”
